This video from the USA says about itself: Vivien Goldman, author of Revenge of the She-Punks (University of Texas Press 2019) launches the book with a reading, plus a sitdown with Pitchfork‘s Jenn Pelly, at McNally Jackson NYC.

In 1976, Vivien Goldman was one of a brave minority of journalists in the official British music press that didn’t slag off the emerging punk movement.

Wikipedia writes about now: Goldman is a documentarian and adjunct professor of punk and reggae at New York University‘s (NYU) Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. She is also an adjunct professor of musical cultures and industry at Rutgers University‘s School of Communication and Information (Rutgers University).

Today, I received a moving email by Ms Goldman about the Punk Scholars Network in the Netherlands. She wrote, in a mail also about the recent film I ama Cliché about the life of the late Poly Styrene of X-ray Spex:

What amazing work you are doing! Talking to you makes me wish I had put all these bands [in the Netherlands in 1976-1982] in my book [Revenge of the She-Punks]! But it had to stop somewhere! It was already half as long again as it was supposed to be! Keep up the good work for all of us, please. Warmly, Vivien

Thank you for your kind words, Vivien!
