US bureaucracy stops Caroline Kaltefleiter from speaking at Women in Punk conference

This video is a long interview with Exene Cervenka, singer of United States first wave, still playing, punk band X.

At the June 18 Amsterdam conference on Women in Punk in the Netherlands, Caroline Kaltefleiter had intended to read a paper on Exene and, e.g., links to the Riot Grrl tendency.

Caroline Kaltefleiter was one of the original Washington, D.C. Riot Grrls, and is now a professor at State University of New York College at Cortland and much more.

However, governmental bureaucratic trouble intervened. Her passport had to be extended, and to her sadness, that did not happen in time to join us in Amsterdam. At the moment, she cannot leave the USA legally.

We should hope that Caroline Kaltefleiter will be able to tell us in the Netherlands about Exene at a later time.
